The Dutch coach confirmed he has not been approached by Bucs' management for a new contract, hence his application for a job to coach India's national team.
"I'm in the end of my contract and until now I have not heard anything from Pirates, so that means I will leave," Krol told Football365.co.za.
Krol also spoke of his delight after his charges reached the Nedbank Cup final - their third major cup final of the 2010/11 season.
The Buccaneers powered to MTN8 cup glory in October after beating Moroka Swallows in Durban, but came off second best to rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout final in December.
Now Krol's men have the opportunity to make amends after reaching their third final after beating Black Aces over the weekend and the Dutchman has hailed his team's efforts.
He added: "I think as a team we have done a fantastic job and I have to say I'm very satisfied.
"We have reached our third final and we are still challenging for the league title as well, so I think we were the most consistent team in the PSL.
"I have to say this is a job well done by my team, that is a big complement for my boys. We also played in the charity cup final, even though that is just a friendly tournament.
"When I started with Pirates three years ago I thought that I will leave a competitive team behind me and we did it."
Krol also maintained his belief that his team still has a big chance of winning the league this coming weekend.
Ajax Cape Town are in the driving seat with 59 points to Pirates' 57, while Kaizer Chiefs are third on 56 points.
Bucs meet Golden Arrows at home on Saturday, while Ajax are expected to beat Maritzburg United, also at home.
Krol, though, remains very confident.
"The title is still possible. You must also believe in miracles but you must do your job first," he concluded.
