Komphela to shore up defence

Cape Town - Despite beating Golden Arrows 3-1 in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday night, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela was upset the side conceded another goal.

It was the fourth goal they have shipped in two games after losing 3-1 to Orlando Pirates over the weekend and Komphela admitted he is not a fan of conceding.

"Regarding the match, we could have scored more goals. First-half we could have gone in the dressing room with more goals," he said after the match.

"But we will appreciate what the All Mighty has presented tonight, even though we conceded tonight.

"I just hate conceding goals, it happened yet again. We just have to keep on working hard."

With another Soweto Derby on the horizon in the Telkom Knockout this weekend, Komphela challenged his players to show their character and bounce back from the recent loss to their arch-rivals.

"It's another opportunity in seven days to redeem ourselves, yet another opportunity to rectify our mistakes.

"It is not about the number of times you go down, but coming up one more time is the difference. Characters are built and characters will be revealed," he concluded.

Kick-off is at 15:00 with the match being played at FNB Stadium on Saturday, November 7.
