Komphela tags Celtic as favourites

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela said that the team must not only take advantage of the home ground, but the advantage of the away goal ahead of the MTN8 semi-final second leg game against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Komphela told Kaizer Chiefs’ official website that they acknowledge that Bloem Celtic always comes prepared to every match and that the 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates has given them a psychological advantage.

“The stats really put us on the front foot,” he confirmed on the club’s website.

“The MTN8 semi-final is about two matches.

“We must not only take advantage of the home ground, but also of the advantage of the away goal.”

“We acknowledge that they come well prepared; their 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in midweek has given them a psychological advantage as they didn’t field some of their key players.

“These players now have fresh legs to stand on.

“We must just go out on the pitch and do what we normally do.

“We will attack sensibly, defend sensibly and get sensible results.”

Amakhosi will take on Bloem Celtic at the FNB stadium in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final on Saturday, August 29.

Kick-off set for 20:15
