Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela will not panic just yet, despite his team fail to collect maximum points in any of the last five Premiership matches.

The Team of Choice was in a promising position halfway through the season and there were strong indications that the club would finish the season among the top eight in the South African top flight.

However, Maritzburg United have since dropped to tenth in the league standings, where they are three points behind SuperSport United, who occupy the final MTN8 spot.

Komphela is not at all fazed by the current circumstances though.

"If you worry, what is going to help you? Worry is no solution in any predicament," Komphela told the club’s website.

Komphela suggested that while the results were not forthcoming in 2015, his team had produced a series of quality performances during this barren spell, which he felt was a solid platform on which to build for the remainder of the season.

"Of course it is a concern but what is important, are you creating chances? Do you see some light at the end of the tunnel?

"Yes, we do, and by our standards, based on what we did in the first 10 matches, we shouldn't [worry] - this is how it is - just deal with it," said a calm and collected Komphela.
