Cape Town - Steve Komphela believes Kaizer Chiefs made the right decision in appointing Siphiwe Tshabalala as captain, claiming the midfielder has "immense leadership qualities".
The decision of who would take over the armband from Tefu Mashamaite for next season was handed over to a panel of seven Amakhosi players, who came to a unanimous decision, and announced Tshabalala as the man to lead the team.
And, speaking after Tuesday's announcement, head coach Steve Komphela told his club's official website: "It is an honour that comes with a great responsibility for Shabba. He is capable - I think he will deliver as expected.
"Shabba has immense leadership qualities and more so, he works with a captain's committee that will support him in his duties."
The "Captain's Committee", who will aid Tshabalala throughout the campaign, comprises of Siboniso Gaxa, Tsepo Masilela, Willard Katsande, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Lorenzo Gordinho and Morgan Gould.
