Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has accepted that he is the person to blame if things go wrong next season.

Khomphela said that with the quality of the squad that he has any mistakes will rest on his shoulders and not the players.

The former Maritzburg United coach said from what he has seen in the two days of training so far, he has a compact squad which can produce results.

“You should not panic and blame yourself when things don’t go well,” he said – a message directed to his players.

“You should not be under pressure because any fault lies with me and not you as players.

“In any case I should be the one to blame, so the players should just feel free and play for the team without being under pressure,” said Komphela during the Chiefs' presentation of the new players at Naturena.
