Komphela: Future looks bright

Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela believes the club can take plenty of inspiration from their strong start to the new Premier Soccer League season.

The Team of Choice currently sit fourth in the Premiership standings, boasting one of the most prolific attacks in the top flight with 14 goals scored in 10 games, while they have also conceded just seven times, the third lowest of any team this term.

And, speaking ahead of Saturday evening's clash against Ajax Cape Town, who sit one point ahead of Maritzburg in a two-way tie for second, Komphela spoke of his pride regarding the team's excellent start.

"The last time I checked we were amongst the better scoring teams and defensively we were also amongst the better performing ones too," Komphela told his side's official website.

"Now when you look at those statistics, they inspire you. They show the amount of work you have put in and we'll go back now and keep working.

"It's a long season. We have to go on working hard and fighting for every point if we want to achieve our targets for the season."
