Komphela: Fans expect a win

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela recognises that the club’s fans expect them to win even in pre-season friendlies.

Chiefs take part in the Swazi Kings Cup on Saturday as they take on Mbabane Swallows at 09:30 at the Somhlolo National Stadium.

"We are expected to win whenever we play a match," Komphela said after a training session on Friday, according to the club’s website.

"We have done our preparation and we hope to play well tomorrow.

"There are various Kaizer Chiefs legends who are Swazi nationals, including Abel Shongwe and William Shongwe.

"We have also noted that we have a lot of supporters here. We want to satisfy their expectations.

"We have a few concerns with injuries but at the same time we have youngsters whom when given a chance, they will shine for us.

"We have been playing smaller opponents in practice matches. This time, however, will face much stronger opposition."

Chiefs’ rivals Orlando Pirates will play against Royal Leopards at 12:00 on Saturday and the winners of the two games will face off in the final at 14:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
