Cape Town - Ex-Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, has indicated he would like to return to the Soweto giants, according to reports.
Khune’s contract expired at the end of June along with Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango.
While Mashamaite's future hangs in the air following a 10-day trial with New York City FC and Masango yearning to make a name for himself abroad, Khune remains indecisive.
The Bafana Bafana ‘keeper revealed that he is not going to make further comments regarding his next move in an exclusive interview with Sport24. (Read full article HERE)
However, news surfacing makes mention that the 28-year-old would want to make a u-turn and keep on donning Amakhosi colours next season.
“Itu and his UK based agent Dan Lichman have formally put in a meeting request with Bobby to set up a date and hope that it could be done as soon as possible. Only after this can there be a green light to consider other options,” said an unnamed source as quoted by The Daily Sun.
The source brings light to the fact that Khune is in a fickle about his next move and wants clarity from the Glamour Boys.
“There are matters that may need to be cleared between himself and Bobby. He was confused when the club said at the press conference to announce his departure that they had abandoned talks with him.”
