Khune turns down Denmark move - reports

Cape Town – Ex-Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has turned down the opportunity play in Denmark.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 28-year-old has opted to remain in South Africa despite strong interest from an unknown Danish club.

Last week, Sport24 reported that Khune was spotted at Chiefs' training ground on Thursday (July 23) morning as talks between the goalkeeper and the Motaungs continue.

In the same week, reports suggest that if Chiefs do lure Itumeleng Khune back to Naturena it will cost the Sowetan giants a cool R7.8 million-a-year.

With 'Spiderkid' rejecting a move abroad, it possibly indicates that he wants to remain in the country with all speculation hinting a return to Naturena.

Amakhosi fans remain indecisive whether they would want the ‘keeper to return or not.

However, Khune will have to make a final decision within the coming weeks on what his next move will be as the PSL set for kick-off in less than two weeks.
