Khune set to return

Cape Town - Amid reports stating that he will be out for weeks due to an ankle injury, Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is likely to feature for Amakhosi against Mamelodi Sundowns later this week.

The two arch rivals will battle in a top-of-the-table Absa Premiership clash at the Loftus in Pretoria on Thursday night.

The “Spider Kid” sustained an ankle injury while on national duty in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group A encounter against Mali and was ruled out for Bafana’s game against Nigeria.

The Brazilians are currently trailing the Phefeni Glamour by five points with a game in hand.

Chiefs had four players representing the country in the CHAN tournament alongside Khune which include the likes of Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker and Tefu Mashamaite.

According to a report on the SowetanLIVE website, Chiefs are still in the dark regarding Khune’s condition as they are still waiting to hear about the full extent of the injury from Bafana’s medical team.

Kick-off for this week’s PSL cracker is scheduled for 19:30.
