Khune released from hospital

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is out of hospital following his re-admission due to a back injury.

The Bafana Bafana stopper has reportedly been in and out of care in an attempt to determine the extent of the injury he sustained last week.

According to the club's website: "Goalkeeper, Itumeleng 'Spider-Kid' Khune has been released from Morningside Private Hospital where he had spent (a) couple of days recuperating following an injury that kept him out of the game against Black Leopards at Peter Mokaba (Stadium) last Sunday."

This news followed an earlier report that stated: "Itumeleng Khune is back in Johannesburg where he is recuperating nicely according to team physio, Dave Milner. Khune was hospitalised in Bloemfontein last weekend after complaining of back pains."

Meanwhile, defender Thomas Sweswe says his side will do their best to defend the Telkom Knockout for a second time after winning it for the past two seasons running.

He said: "The spirit in the camp remains high but we know that we have to keep our eyes on the ball and focus on each game we play.

"Our aim is to defend the Telkom Knockout again this season. We know that it is going to be tough playing away against Platinum Stars but then again we were in the same situation two seasons back when we played almost all the games away."
