Khune was sent off last week against AmaZulu, and post match the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper vented about his frustration regarding the official’s decision to send him off, on Twitter.
“@OfficialPSL but I did nothing wrong.u guys need to take action against this poor referees," was the first tweet sent from Khune's official account.
“Its unfair how we are painted bad for our actions on de field but we are provoked by these referees, can call me names but I stand 4 what's right.”
According to Channel24, the 27-year-old deleted the tweets and later apologised on his Instagram account.
The reports suggest that due to his social media behaviour, Khune will lose his sponsorship with the skincare product.
The Vaseline brand does not want to be associated with “bad press” which is why the deal reportedly ended.
Meanwhile, Chiefs will look to secure the Absa Premiership title with victory against Polokwane City on Wednesday, April 22 (kick-off is at 19:30).
However, Khune will only be eligible to play in their next fixture when they face Mamelodi Sundowns a week later.
