Khune, Masango mum on next move

Ventersdorp - Free agent and former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, says he is not going to make further comments with regards to his possible next move following his departure from the 2014/15 Absa Premiership winners.

Khune's contract along with his former team-mates Mandla Masango and Tefu Mashemaite expired at the at the end of last month and Chiefs opted not to extend their stay at the club following their huge wage demands.

With Port Elizabeth rumoured to be Khune’s next destination in the colours of Chippa United, the 28-year-old shot-stopper distanced himself from all speculation about his future.

Khune said he will soon make an announcement about his next move and the country’s football fraternity must be patient and wait until then.

“At the moment I have no comment about that,” Khune told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.

“I am not commenting about my future or my career now.

“You can call me the day you hear me making an official announcement.

“After that then we can talk, (but) for now I am not saying anything.

“But I will make an announcement soon.”

Meanwhile, Masango also declined to comment when contacted by Sport24 on Tuesday.

“Bullet” also remained mum when asked about the time frame he would wait before making any comment on his future.

Mashemaite is currently on trial with MLS side, New York City FC.
