Johannesburg - Tottenham Hotspur’s South African defender, Bongani Khumalo, will train with SuperSport United this week before returning to England ahead of his club’s preseason.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the 26-year-old centre back, who left Matsatsantsa for Spurs in 2010, faces an uncertain future at White Hart Lane after English media reported that he was due to be put on the transfer list.
However, the player’s representative, Glyn Binkin, recently informed the Siya crew that that wasn’t the case and that he would return to the club for preseason on the 8th of July.
Binkin also informed the crew that Khumalo will spend this week training with Cavin Johnson and his SuperSport players as he looks to keep himself fit and get a head start ahead of Spurs’ training next Monday.
Both Binkin and Khumalo’s English representative, Matt Kleinman, have previously insisted that the defender will not be returning to SA to play his football, with him eager to remain in Europe.
