Khumalo to feature for SSU

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana captain, Bongani Khumalo, looks set to feature for SuperSport United at the Cape Town Cup, which starts on Friday night in Cape Town.

Khumalo, who was released by English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season, may play when Matsatsansta play Crystal Palace in the opening game of the tournament.

At the press conference to launch the tournament, SuperSport coach Gordon Igesund confirmed Khumalo’s presence, and that the club still hoped to sign their former player.

Khumalo left United to join Spurs after the 2010 World Cup, however never featured in an official English Premiership game for the team, and spent much of his time on loan at other clubs.

SuperSport play Palace at 17:45 on Friday night at the Cape Town Stadium.
