Khenyeza Has A Week To Appeal

accreditation

Mabhudi Khenyeza has six more days to appeal the PSL’s decision to ban him for 12-months, having been found guilty of spitting and swearing at a match official.

The 31-year-old was rocked by the news on Wednesday, after it was revealed that he would have to sit out a full year as punishment for his actions in Ajax Cape Town’s defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns back in April.

However, all is not lost for the forward. The Siya crew contacted the PSL who confirmed that Khenyeza can still appeal the ban, but has to do so within seven working days of the Disciplinary Committee’s decision.

This means that the forward has until Friday, June 20, to file his appeal to the league and attempt to have the lengthy, somewhat harsh, ban rescinded or at least reduced.

Ajax had planned to offer Khenyeza a new two-year contract with the Urban Warriors after his heroics in their relegation survival, although it seems that they will wait on the results of any appeal before continuing contract talks.
