The defensive midfielder revealed Modise has emerged as a leader within in the squad and plays a vital role as a motivator and senior member of the team.

"Teko is a great guy and leads by example, as one of the senior players in the team," Kekana told Soccer Laduma.

"He likes laughing out loud whenever jokes are made and he will sometimes crack a joke or two.

"The thing about Teko is that he always wants to see everyone happy and wants to keep the team together and united all the time.

It is obvious that coach Pitso Mosimane's decision to remove Modise as the team's captain in 2013 has paid dividends.

The former Bafana Bafana international immediately rediscovered his form in the Brazilians 2013/14 title winning campaign and has remained a positive and motivating influence in the dressing room.
