Kekana defends Sundowns fans

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Hlompho Kekana admits that he knows that it is not all ‘Downs fans that was angry with Pitso Mosimane.

According to Soccer Laduma, before coming out of their most recent winless slump, Mosimane was taunted by club fans as they were eager for the former Bafana Bafana coach to get sacked.

“First of all, supporters are also humans, just like you and me, so the more we show them appreciation, the more they will show us love,” said Kekana in support of the fans.

“It is a work in progress because everyone can see that our support base is growing slowly but surely.

“We must also mention the fact that the unfortunate incidents we saw recently were not caused by all the Sundowns supporters. It is only a section of them.

“However, we really feel their pain when things aren’t going well. I mean, for us, the pain is three times more and so is their happiness. We do everything for them.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
