Kekana: Fans always have high expectations

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundown’s central midfielder Hlompho Kekana said he knows what is expected of the team and there are always high expectations from the fans with every match they play.

Kekana who has also played for SuperSport United said that Downs’ will be going into the match against Bidvest Wits with the mindset to win no matter what challenges they will face during the course of the match.

“Of course it will be a tricky match because we know what is expected from us as a team,” he told Sport24.

There are always very high expectations from the coaches down to the fans.

It’s never easy for any footballer; they will all tell you that. It’s very important to have a mindset of winning a match.

We have to win- as we actually haven’t won any matches since the season started so that is likely to take a strain on the team but we will definitely go in there with a ‘winner takes it all’’ mindset.

There are some good individuals in Wits but Sundowns are more concerned about the team as a whole, because we play as a team.

Much respect to Gavin Hunt, he always has good starting line-ups,” he concluded.

Mamelodi Sundown will challenge The Clever Boys at the Lucas Moripe stadium later on Saturday, August 22.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
