Kalanda impress Ea Lla Koto

Cape Town - Ugandan striker, Frank Kalanda, impressed Free State Stars and could be set for a deal with the Kinnah Phiri’s coached side.

Ea Lla Koto is in search of a striker to replace Camaldine Abraw, who will play for Kaizer Chiefs in the 2015/16 season pending the outcome of a PSL Dispute and Resolution chamber hearing.

A source at the Free State based team told Sport24 that the Uganda striker has been impressive since arriving for trials almost a fortnight ago.

“Our technical team has been impressed with the striker and I think he is the one that will fill the boots of Abraw,” the source said.

“He has been the talk our pre-season and I’m sure the club will hand him a contract.”

The 23-year-old striker is on the books of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and is highly rated in his country having scored for his team against Orlando Pirates in the Confederations’ cup match earlier this year.

The striker was once likened to Didier Drogba by former Orlando Pirates and now coach of Uganda, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic, because of his aggression and eye for goal.
