Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits striker Calvin Kadi could be out for most of the 2014/15 season due to injury.
The 26-year-old forward picked up a knee injury following a hard tackle from Orlando Pirates defender, Happy Jele, in Wits' Nedbank Cup final defeat at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban last month.
The Clever Boys' Public Relations Officer (PRO), Jonathan Schloss, told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Thursday that Kadi's recovery could take longer than expected.
“It could take a long time for him (Kadi) to heal,” said Schloss.
“We are not sure for how long he will be on the sidelines at the moment.
“Even our team doctor said players heal differently.
“It might be three months or even six months.
“But up to this stage we can only confirm that he will be out for a long time.”
The new season commences in August.
