Josephs slams justice system

Johannesburg - Wits shot stopper Moeneeb Josephs says he is very disappointed in the South African justice system following the untimely death of his former Orlando Pirates teammate Senzo Meyiwa over the weekend.

The 27-year-old was gunned to death in Vosloorus while having dinner with his friends and girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.

No arrest has been made so far but “Slim Kat” remains optimistic that justice will be done at the end of the day.

"I am very disappointed in our country’s justice system," said Josephs.

"But God will handle this matter.

“There is nothing which He cannot handle.

"This will be my main prayer from now on until it happens.

"Justice must be served and am sure it will be served, I will pray for that every day.

"This is ridiculous, just ridiculous."

Meyiwa played second fiddle to Josephs in the Buccaneers colours from 2008 until 2012, but took over the reigns between the sticks under Roger De Sa.

Notably, both Meyiwa and Josephs played a significant role in helping the Sea Robbers claim back to back treble successes in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.

Meyiwa will be laid to rest in Umlazi, Durban on Saturday.
