Rustenburg -
Jomo Cosmos coach Jomo Sono revealed his delights of sharing the spoils
with the Absa Premiership reigning champions Kaizer Chiefs, citing that the
result will be a confidence booster for his charges going forward.
Ezinkosi
held the Phefeni Glamour Boys in an entertaining league encounter to a
goalless stalemate at the Olen Park Stadium.
The 'Black
Prince of Soweto' praised his troops for their hard work and bravery, insisting
that despite not having quality players in his squad, Ezinkosi will continue to
produce good results due to the amount of effort they will put to each of their
coming games.
“To be
honest playing against Chiefs and creating lots of chances and also drawing
against them is what we have been doing for the last six games," said Sono.
“Tonight
(Tuesday) we created plenty of chances and we also defended so well and getting
a draw against Chiefs will give confidence to our players.
“I’m happy
with a draw and we have worked so hard for it. Our players
are hard workers and we’ll be playing like this for the remainder of the
season.
“We don’t
have quality players in our team, so we have to replace that with hard work.
"And credit
must go to the boys, I’m proud of them and I’m sure that the supporters were
not disappointed with the performances of both teams.”
Cosmos
remains flirting with relegation occupying the 14th spot while the
Amakhosi are on the 5th place.
