Cape Town - Jomo Sono has spoken of his confidence of once again making the jump to the Premier Soccer League, before Jomo Cosmos all-important final promotion playoff against Moroka Swallows.
Cosmos will take on an already relegated Swallows side knowing that a win will take them back into the PSL, and coach Sono has come out saying that he is not at all phased by the occasion.
"I’ve seen it all,” Sono told SABC.
Due to their constant back-and-forth between the PSL and NFD over the last half decade the Ezenkosi have acquired the rather unfortunate nickname of Yoyo Cosmos.
Come Wednesday, however, Cosmos fans will be hoping that they live up to their billing as perennial league switchers.
Sono says that he doesn’t feel the pressure anymore, but recognises that it may not be the case for his inexperienced squad and hopes his calmness will rub off on them. “I don’t spend sleepless nights, I know what this team is capable of doing. We were doing well and we went through a slump which is normal in football and then we’ve come back again.“It’s up to me as the driver to calm their nerves because for them it’s the biggest game of their lives, they’ve never been involved in a big game like this."The game stars at 19:30 on Wednesday, June 3 at the Dobsonville Stadium.
