Johnson warns journos of ‘silly season’

Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach, Cavin Johnson, has asked journalists to be careful with the information that they disseminate during football’s ‘silly season’.

When asked whether he was indeed keen to sign Mor Diouf and Michael Morton, as has widely been reported, he was adamant that it was just speculation.

“No, no, no, no. I think someone is trying to get the better of you,” Johnson told Sport24.

“I am probably only bringing in about 4 or 5 players.

“As a club we have sat down and said that by next Wednesday we will release the list of players.

“We ourselves are not positive on what we are looking for yet so when journalists say they have heard something from a ‘source’ you have to be wary.”
