Johnson wants Morton, Diouf

Cape Town - Calvin Johnson is working on bringing Michael Morton and Mor Diouf to Platinum Stars after working with the duo during his time as SuperSport United.

Sport24 sources say the two teams have already discussed the two players and are likely to be released for the Rustenburg based team.

Diouf struggled for game time last season starting only 12 league matches and according to the source, the defender had already made his mind to look for a new team in the new season while the club was reluctant to let go of Morton.

“It’s a big tricky for Morton because he is highly rated but for Diouf it was clear by the end of the season that he wants to go,” said the source.

“Calvin is a big fan of the two players and tops his list as he tries to rebuild Dikwena following a difficult 2014/15 season where the team was once in danger of relegation.”

Morton, unlike Diouf, featured regularly for the Tshwane based team and started in 22 games.
