According to Soccer Laduma, the 28-year-olds contract was set to expire at the end of June.

Jele has been with the club nearly 10 years having joined the Seas Robbers back in 2006.

It has been reported that the right-back inked a three-year deal with the Sowetan giants, keeping the defender at the club till at least until 2018.

Magents, as he is known in the football fraternity, was expected to sign a fresh deal in January alongside Sifiso Myeni and Ayanda Gcaba who have already committed their future to the club.

It is said that negotiations delayed beyond the transfer window deadline which is why Jele’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next month.

Jele played in over 30 games for Pirates (all competitions) and has been cautioned on eight occasions (all yellow cards).

The defender, however, could only get his name on the scoresheet once this season during a 4-1 thumping of Ajax Cape Town at the Orlando Stadium with Jele opening the score in the 34th minute.
