Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele is hoping to maintain his form for the club in order to secure a recall to the South African national squad.
Jele is an integral part of the Pirates defence that helped the Buccaneers on a remarkable run to the CAF Confederation Cup final.
The fullback is fully focused on his role at the Sea Robbers, but admits that he wants to represent Bafana Bafana again in future.
"For me, I still have to work hard so that the Bafana Bafana coach can select me," Jele told KickOff.
"I still want to play for my country but for now my focus is on Orlando Pirates."
The 28-year-old is grateful for the opportunity to play for the Bucs in the CAF Confederations Cup and believes the experience will serve the squad well for the rest of this season and the foreseeable future.
"It's very important for South African teams to play in such competitions because you learn a lot in terms of experiencing a certain level so that our country can go up a certain level as well," he explained.
"A lot of senior players are taking responsibility and taking certain roles in the team and we're hoping that the young guys are going to learn from senior players."
