Jaakkola: The first of many to come

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola hopes their MTN8 title triumph will be the catalyst for more silverware in the future.

The Urban Warriors trumped Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, with a second-half penalty from Nathan Paulse earning the Ikamva giants their first title in seven years.

The result also went some way to making up for last year's Nedbank Cup shortcoming, where Ajax went down to Mamelodi Sundowns in the tournament's final.

"It's a massive achievement, the team is so young. To win against Kaizer Chiefs is a great thing," Jaakkola said.

"Hopefully this will be the first of many to come. Every season our young players will get better and only the sky is the limit for them.

"We were here three months ago and we didn't quite do the job, but this time it's our day. There were a few crosses in the first-half and I had one save to make today I think."
