According to the Kaizer Chiefs website, Amakhosi ended the season with a record number of points (69) and securing the PSL title with a record 12-point gap to runners-up Mamelodi Sundowns.
Furthermore, the league was won with a phenomenal win-percentage of 70% and these were all record-breaking numbers since the PSL went to 16 clubs in 2002. The club also started the season brightly with claiming the MTN8 Cup.
“Success does not just happen, it’s not an accident or a mistake, a gamble or a coincidence, nor is it a twist of fate, karma, serendipity, destiny or even a stroke of luck,” said Motaung at the clubs official awards evening last week.
“Success is a carefully planned journey that entails a number of elements.
“It starts with the destination. It’s about creative visualisation – having a clear idea of where you want to be.”
“We’ve had an amazing season,” concluded Chiefs’ Marketing Director, “but this is certainly not the end. Rather it’s the beginning, as we need to build on this success again next season and the season after that and the one after that…”
