Isaacs stays at Wits

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits have confirmed that midfielder Erwin Isaacs will remain at the club next season after they exercised the option to extend his contract.

Isaacs has started just 11 games for wits and has scored only twice during the two years he has spent at the club, but there is still a belief that The Clever Boys can get the best out of him.

Isaacs, Katlego Pule, Siyabonga Nhlapo, Denver Mukamba and Robin Ngalande are all on the list of players whose options have been exercised over the last month, while S’boniso Gumede has signed new contract.

KickOff.com website reports that Jose Ferreira, the Wits CEO, has confirmed all these developments, stating that Isaacs will stay on after the option on his contract was exercised.

With limited game-time during their time at Wits, fears have been raised as to whether Mukamba and Ngalande could be sacrificed considering that they are foreigners, while Nhlapo and Pule have proven their worth competing against each other for the right-back position.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
