In-form Ajax want third win

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will look to inflict a third successive Absa Premiership defeat on SuperSport United when the teams meet at Cape Town Stadium.

Ajax extended their unbeaten streak to three games when they were held 1-1 away by Moroka Swallows in midweek.

The Cape Town side has claimed 16 points from seven home matches this season.

There next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates (both away) and AmaZulu (home).

The Urban Warriors are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 22 points from 13 matches.

SuperSport suffered a second straight league loss when they were beaten 3-1 by derby rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed six points from five away matches this season.

There next three league opponents are Polokwane City (home), Bidvest Wits and Chippa United (both away).

Matsatsantsa are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 15 points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and SuperSport have met in 30 league matches since 1999/2000.

Matsatsantsa have 12 wins compared to 10 for the Urban Warriors, while eight matches have been drawn.

Ajax have won six of their 15 home matches against United down the years, suffering four defeats in the process.

Last season the Urban Warriors completed a league ‘double’ over Matsatsantsa, winning 2-1 in Pretoria and 2-0 in Cape Town.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Sunday, December 7.
