Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund could not hide his relief after his team snapped their four-game losing streak in the Premiership.
Matsatsantsa overcame a tricky Chippa United 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday night.
Goals from Clayton Daniels and Jeremy Brockie delivered some much needed respite for the under-fire Igesund.
The former Bafana Bafana tactician hopes Matsatsantsa have turned the corner.
"We've got a good victory tonight against a very difficult opponent - it's not easy to come here," Igesund said after the win.
"We're getting a bit of momentum going now, the guys were terrific tonight and we scored the second goal that just eased the tension a little bit but I'm very pleased with the guys, they deserve what they're getting now because we went through a tough period.
"It's been very, very tough for everybody, it's just been one of those things when things aren't going well and you don't get the rub of the green.
"But we've been patient and the club has been brilliant and the supporters have been great and it's something to work on, so we'll just keep working on it and hopefully keep going."
