Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund has urged the club's supporters not to panic after a disappointing start to their PSL campaign.
Igesund is coming under increasing pressure, with his side currently languishing in 13th place after a shock 3-1 defeat to Platinum Stars at the weekend.
The stars result marked a third consecutive defeat for Matsatsantsa, meaning Wednesday's Telkom Knockout clash with Polokwane City is a must-win game for Igesund and his men.
Igesund admits his side is lacking in confidence and feels a positive result against Rise and Shine could be just the tonic they need to revive their campaign.
"Certain teams started better and certain teams are expected to do well but are still trying to find their feet," Igesund told KickOff.
"My message to supporters, don't panic.
"It's disappointing but stick around the team, we will get better.
"What we really need to do is get good results in the Telkom and try to defend our title properly and that might bring us on, get back the confidence.
"The team is lacking confidence at the moment and not because of other reasons but they are desperate to win.
"They keep reading newspapers about what a fantastic team they are, the best team and I tell them they must not believe it."
