Cape Town - SuperSport United head coach Gordon Igesund has spoken of his
delight after his side progressed to the semi-finals of the Telkom
Knockout on Saturday.
Matsatsantsa got the better of Bidvest Wits courtesy of a 2-1 scoreline in a tight TKO quarter-final contest at the Bivest Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Igesund was visibly thrilled with the result achieved on the road, with SSU now just two steps away from glory.
"It was a tough 90 minutes, coming away from home against a team like Wits, it was always going to be difficult," he said.
"I was really pleased with the performance from the players, they got stuck in, we passed the ball around nicely.
"We lost out way a little bit for about 15 minutes towards the end of the first half...but at the end of the day, tough game.
"We took our chance and we scored and won the game, so I'm very pleased."
Dove Wome opened the scoring for the visitors but the two teams were back on level terms when Chris Katongo found the equaliser, before substitute Lebogang Manyama came on and scored the winner.
