Baby steps for Matsatsantsa

Cape Town - SuperSport United midfielder Lebogang Manyama reveals that Gordon Igesund re-nstalled the belief that was missing under Cavin Johnson.

According to KickOff, Manyama reveals that life under Igesund is much better than when Johnson was at the helm.

“The coach has come and sort of helped us show what we can do,” said Manyama.

“I think with the previous coach, it was just a matter of us not playing to our full potential and he [Igesund] has come in and reinstalled that.”

“Having been in the national team [Igesund], we all know what he can do and he’s a coach of high pedigree that demands a lot from his players.”

Manyama admits that they are targeting to win the Telkom Knockout as well as progress in the PSL but issues confidence that it is a step by step process.

SuperSport have won three consecutive games since the former Bafana Bafana coach took over from Cavin Johnson. The Johannesburg side ply ninth position in the Absa Premiership as they seek to be in the top eight before the end of the year.

Igesund's Matsatsantsa team will face University of Pretoria at Tuks Stadium when the Absa Premiership resumes after the international break.

Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 on Saturday, October 18.
