Igesund happy with Furman start

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund says star recruit Dean Furman has adapted well at the Absa Premiership club.

Matsatsantsa have assembled an all-star squad with signings that include Bafana captain Furman, Bongani Khumalo, Michael Boxall, Isaka Cernak, Grant Kekana and Fagrie Lakay.

The 26-year-old Furman recently joined SuperSport on a two-year contract after parting ways with Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season.

Igesund also expects to work closely with Aussie Cernak, who joined from Central Coast Mariners, to familiarise him with the local league.

"Dean has settled nicely. He is no stranger to South African football, he is a national team player," Igesund told KickOff.

"He has an idea of the players around him, what kind of skill they got and how they play.

"At training he [Cernak] looks good but tonight he was disappointing. He didn't do what he does at training.

"He has taken quite some time to find the form I am looking for. But sometimes it takes time."
