After taking over in the early stages of last term, Igesund had to implement his philosophy along the way and eventually ended the campaign with relative success as Matsatsantsa clinched the Telkom Knockout and finished sixth in the league.
This time around though, Igesund has the luxury of a full pre-season regime, which he hopes will help boost their ambitions of silverware.
"I'm not saying I'm going to go out and win the league next season, but I certainly want to be a team that will be challenging for the Premiership," Igesund told KickOff.
"You can't underestimate your rivals - teams like Chiefs, Pirates, Sundowns, Wits and others - it's a very competitive league.
"I just want to make sure that we are one of those teams that can compete for the championship. Winning the league championship - and I know from experience - is not an easy task.”
