Igesund bemoans absence of key players

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund has bemoaned the unavailability of Clayton Daniels, Grant Kekana and Kingston Nkhatha for his team’s opening Absa Premiership match against Orlando Pirates.

Igesund will hope his SuperSport side can bounce back after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

“Apart from the injuries, we are all looking forward to the opening league fixture,” Igesund told Sport24.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge against Orlando Pirates, despite the absence of some players due to injuries and suspension.”

The Matsatsantsa coach said his team has learnt from their mistakes against Bidvest Wits where they were dumped out of the MTN8 competition.

“It will be a different ball game, but we are ready for the test and excited with the new season.”
