Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund is convinced both his
side and Platinum Stars deserve their place in Saturday's Telkom
Knockout final.
The two PSL giants will lock horns at the Orlando Stadium this weekend, with Matsatsantsa having earned their place in the Ziwa Mo showpiece by dispatching Free State Stars, Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates in the previous rounds.
Dikwena, meanwhile, are on course for a successful title defence, having also come through difficult opposition in the form of Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Igesund said: "Both teams deserve to be in the final. When you beat Chiefs and Sundowns to reach the final, you deserve to be there. And we also had two tough sides to beat in Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates.
"We have a lot of respect for (Platinum Stars coach) Allan (Freese) and his team - they are the reigning champions and obviously we'd like to change that. But we do know it will be a tough game. They're a good team, and a cup team and they've got some players on form."
