Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund believes his team played much better than the 4-1 scoreline against Kaizer Chiefs suggests.
A rampant Chiefs thrashed Matsatsantsa with a brace from George Lebese and a goal apiece from Ivan Bukenya and Siphiwe Tshabalala.
The defending champions rallied from behind after Dove Wome had fired United ahead in the 22nd minute with a thunderous strike from outside the box.
In the second half Amakhosi came back strong with four unanswered goals to win the clash of the title contenders. Dean Furman's sending off in the 79th minute did not help matters for United.
"I was very disappointed with the first goal we conceded, it was a lack of experience, then the second goal it was one long kick and we didn't deal with it, and that brought them back into the game," Igesund said after the game.
"But at the end of the day, congratulations to Steve Komphela and his team, I wish them well for the remainder of the season.
"But we'll bounce back, 4-1, it wasn't a true reflection of the game. We should have been 2-0 up, but what can you say about that?
"At the end of the day we didn't win the game and we'll sort that out and we'll see what happens next week. It was a bit of bad luck for us tonight."
