According to Kaizer Chiefs website, Khumalo reveals that he knew "Shoes" before they started playing alongside one another in the middle of the park.

“I have known "Shoes" since our high school days,” Khumalo reacts on the loss of Moshoeu.

The Amakhosi and South African soccer legend passed away on Tuesday, April 21 after a long battle with cancer.

“We later played against each other when he was with Blackpool,” continues Chiefs’ assistant coach.

“We knew each other already for a long time before we would eventually become team-mates at Bafana Bafana.

“Later, Shoes joined Chiefs and he would be my roommate before games.”

“I will miss Shoes deeply,” concludes Khumalo, “may his soul rest in peace.”

Khumalo and Moshoeu played together at Amakhosi during the 1993 season.

They both starred at the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations, which South Africa won.
