I will keep rotating: Mosimane

Pretoria - After his side's 3-1 premiership victory over Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday, Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane believes he is yet to find the right combination in attack.

Mosimane explained he would continue to rotate his outfit to find the best team possible ahead of next season's campaign.

The Brazilians scored two goals in 10 minutes, before slotting home a penalty in additional time to secure the win over the Cape side at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, allowing Sundowns to remain in the hunt for a top eight finish.

Eleazar Rodgers netted his second league goal of the season from a Teko Modise set-piece in the 17th minute, before Edward Mnqele doubled Sundowns' lead 10 minutes later, with Hlompho Kekana adding the third in the 91st minute from the penalty spot.

"I think we are feeling more relieved now, we scored three goals, that's unlike us, but it's good," Mosimane said after the game.

"I keep rotating. I said last week that I would give Eleazar Rodgers a chance, he got his chance, I could not keep him on the bench any more because I have no reason not to give him a chance.

"The other strikers are not scoring, and the last time Rodgers played, he started the game and he scored; against Ajax he started again and he scored, so I guess he is sending a message to me.

"We are giving everybody a chance and I know it's risky sometimes to do that but I'm not afraid."

Mosimane added that his side's 1-1 draw with Platinum Stars in their previous premiership outing over the weekend sapped plenty of energy from his players, but he was pleased to walk away with the victory against Ajax.

"We laboured to a win. The game against Platinum Stars in the scorching heat there in Rustenburg over the weekend took a lot out of the players' bodies.

"Ajax kept coming. They were fresher and younger than us, so they were strong. They gave us a hard time because they know how to play, their movements are good and they play football.

"We kept the result, we had to play to win and we played to win.

"There wasn't too much good football from us; we were playing well in patches but all we needed was to dig deeper, we needed the points and we are trying to move up the log."

The victory takes Sundowns to 27 points, eight clear of the relegation zone and level with the University of Pretoria in 10th, while Ajax extended their winless streak to nine games across all competitions, dating back to December 7, when the Cape side beat Maritzburg United in a league encounter.

"It's good for us, good for the morale, and good for the supporters," Mosimane said.

"We need to catch up and to reduce the distance between us and the rest of the teams. I'm busy exploring (with team selections), I don't want to stay with the same team, I want to give everybody a chance.

"I'm always complaining that we don't score goals; today we scored three after creating five or six chances.

"This is good, this is what we want at Sundowns; we create the chances without playing well and we are scoring so I'm happy for my team, I'm happy for the supporters."
