According to KickOff, Hunt admits that he would like to bring the Orlando Pirates midfielder to Wits but knows that the club would have to break the bank.

"You guys in the media, I don't know if you know, the way things are going now … You heard about the Oupa Manyisa story and if that ever transpires … my God, I wouldn't want to know what that costs from both sides,” says Hunt.

"It's an open market and people can do what they want. We can't compete in that market.

"As much as I want Daine, I would like to take him like Elias Pelembe and Anthony Laffor, but we will have to sell the franchise."

Gavin Hunt and his Wits side return to PSL action on Tuesday, February 10 when they face Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
