Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt suggested that his players had
nobody else to blame but themselves following the shock defeat to
Polokwane City in the Premiership on Wednesday.
Hunt, who has previously expressed deep concerns about his team’s finishing, said it was that aspect of the game which hampered them severely during the match against Polokwane’s Rise and Shine.
"We must have had eight or nine chances, one-on-one with the goalkeeper," Hunt told journalists after that match.
"At the end of the day you've got to give them credit, but we certainly should have won the game," added a deeply disappointed Hunt.
What the result does mean is that Wits now drop to seventh in their Premiership standings, 11 points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs. It was also the club’s second defeat in the last five league matches.
