Cape Town - Gavin Hunt admits that red cards are hurting his Bidvest Wits PSL campaign following the sending off of Henrico Botes against SuperSport United.
According to KickOff, Botes seemed to lose his mind just before half time as he grabbed Clayton Daniels face and dragged him to the ground, duly earning himself an early shower and reducing the hosts to 10 men for the final 45 minutes.
“At the end of the day the red card – we’ve had like four now this season in four games, we’ve really been hurt with this type of thing because I thought we played really well in the first half when it was eleven against eleven but you know what, three points, and we move on,” Hunt said.
“I thought we were very good, we could have got two or three, we played with a false number nine or whatever you wanna call it, but Daine Klate was magic up front, dropping off, I thought the centre-halves would’t come out to mark him and we could have got one or two more.”
Despite the red card, Wits went on to win United 1-0 courtesy of Jabulani Shongwe who himself in acres of space in the Matsatsantsa penalty area and he shifted the ball onto his right foot and finished accurately in the top right hand corner.
