Cape Town - Golden Arrows winger, Deon Hotto, who was Namibia’s star player on the road to winning the COSAFA Cup last month, wants to remain with the KwaZulu-Natal-based team, despite interest from a number of PSL teams, including Orlando Pirates.
The Namibian scored five goals during the regional competition, which saw his country beat favourites such as Zimbabwe and Zambia, and his efforts has seen him linked him with a move from the newly-promoted side.
According to sources the player feels it is for the best interest of his career that he remains at Golden Arrows for at least a season.
“Look, the player is happy that some big teams are interested in his services, but he does not want to rush and is looking at growing his brand in the PSL before moving to a bigger team,” the source said.
“He is excited at the prospect of playing top flight football in South Africa and does not want to put that in jeopardy by going to a team where he is not guaranteed of regular playing time.”
