Hamstring injury for Doutie

Cape Town - Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Sameehg Doutie, has returned to SuperSport United with a hamstring injury following a trial with an undisclosed Russian club.

According to Soccer Laduma, Doutie had a one-year option to stay at Matsatsantsa which United exercised.

SuperSport’s CEO, Stan Matthews, confirmed that he spent time in Russia after missing out on the opportunity last year.

“Sameehg asked us whether he could follow up an opportunity in Russia, last year it was late in window and we couldn’t make it happen, so this time around we thought we’d give him the chance to go,” said Matthews.

SuperSport are up against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, August 2 in the MTN8 quarter-final.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
