Gumede made football decision

Cape Town - New Orlando Pirates recruit Tshepo Gumede said the decision to move to Soweto was sparked by his desire to advance his football career.

Gumede was one of the more seasoned campaigners at previous club Platinum Stars and also featured quite prominently for Dikwena this term.

However, the recently closed transfer window provided an opportunity to make a career move and he did not hesitate, even though Stars has been his home for the past three seasons.

“Choosing to sign for Pirates was a footballing decision," Gumede told Soccer Laduma.

“I signed with the club because of the way they play and their philosophy.

“I wanted to sign for a club where I could fit in with my style of play.

“Also what attracted me to Pirates was their ambition and this is something I want to contribute towards.”
